Who's Who?
...at Grandly Strange
Artistic Director Mr Marc Parrett

Prior to the Coronavirus outbreak of 2020 Mr Parrett was a very busy puppet maker, designing and crafting all sorts of animated figures & beasts for both theatre and film. Then everything got cancelled. Begrugingly he committed to a stack of DIY jobs he'd been putting off for years but, inevitably, he soon became distracted - which is how Grandly Strange Mechanical Theatre came into being. The lack of emails and deadlines provided the perfect vacuum in which to start tinkering and welding and creating the bizarre sorts of things he'd always wanted to make - but had mostly been too frantically busy to even think about. As life slowly return to something resembling normality he won't say no if you want him to make a puppet for you... but it does look very much like Grandly Strange Mechanical Theatre is here to stay!

Textile Artist Ms Nicole Colbert
Nicole has been in demand throughout 2020 - making hundreds and hundreds of face masks! When she's not busy creating life preserving apparel, she stitches beautiful and highly personal textile artworks which can be seen on display in numerous venues across Yorkshire. Somehow she also manages to find time to make sumptuous drapery, costumes and decorative details for Grandly Strange - all of which are the absolute icing on Mr Parrett's unconventional cake!
